Hello. So I had an epiphany about my life this morning. As I was waking up, as I am so blessed to get to do, I was "scanning" my to do list for the day. As I was getting ready for work, I kept remembering different things that I needed to do before other things were supposed to occur. So I was starting different tasks, when even more would come to mind as I was getting Dylan ready for school. On my way to work & school, I was planning the rest of the week's events. After I dropped Dylan off at school I continued on to work. As I was "scanning" through the stations on the radio, it hit me. Like a swift kick to the face with a steel toed Kodiak work book (pun from Jim Carrey's 'The Cable Guy') it hit me. My life is a scan button. I've heard people refer to their life as --on Fast-Forward-- and I can relate to that, however, when you are a single dad with 2 kids, life seems to jump from one 'genre' to the next without a moments notice - just like the scan button feature on a radio. The difference between the seek & scan function is that you have control over what you are seeking to listen to, but the scan just scans through each channel that has a strong enough signal to pick up and then when you finally get content with what is playing, BOOM....it changes. Isn't that how life is sometimes? We are so busy "scanning" life and day to day activities that its easy for us to get content with what is going on and then...BOOM...it changes. Change can be a good thing, but its often not something we enjoy. Just remember that God is in control and that whatever station that our life gets "scanned" to...lets make the best of it and give God the Glory.
